It is difficult to ascertain where the U.S. economy begins and the Chinese economy ends nowadays. I fear that this entanglement poses a threat to our nation's independence and prosperity.

As Benjamin Franklin might have cautioned, "Beware of entangling alliances, for they may bind you to the fate of others and compromise your own liberty." A nation that relies too heavily on another for its economic well-being risks losing control of its own destiny.
